This variant of the alpannonia main trail leads as a 124.5 km long high-altitude and panoramic route from Fischbach in Styria to Kőszeg in Hungary.
"alpannonia - hiking boundlessly far" is a hiking trail network that extends from the alpine region in Styria and Lower Austria down to the plains in Hungary. The network consists of a main trail and various regional routes. The main trail has two starting points in the alpine region (Fischbach and Semmering) and Kőszeg as the endpoint at the last spur of the Alps in Hungary. Tourist-important locations in this network are connected to the main trail by regional routes.
Leírás
A Fischbachból indulva haladjunk felfelé a Teufelstein felé. A csodálatos kilátást nyújtó csúcs kissé letér a főútvonalról - a feljutáshoz körülbelül 15 perc szükséges. Most egy kicsit lefelé kell haladni az Alpl nyeregig. Az Alplról az ösvény egyenletesen emelkedik fel a panorámás kilátást nyújtó Pretulra és az alpannonia túraútvonal-hálózat legmagasabb pontjára, az 1782 m magasan fekvő Stuhleckre. A Stuhleckről kissé meredek ereszkedés vezet a Pfaffensattelhez. Az ösvény ezután ismét emelkedik egy kicsit, a kis Pfaff mellett elhaladva a Feistritzsattelig. Itt kezdődik egy nagyobb emelkedő a második legmagasabb pontra, az 1743 m magasan fekvő Hochwechselre. Még a Hochwechsel előtt, a Kranichberger Schwaignál kezdődik egy panorámás szakasz, amely a Hochwechsel és a Niederwechsel fölött a Mönichkirchner Schwaighoz vezet. Ez a szakasz kilátást nyújt a Bécsi-medencére, a Grazi-medencére és messze Magyarországra. A túraútvonal Mönichkirchenből Hochneukirchenen keresztül Bernsteinbe vezet a Bucklige Welt és Burgenland dombos tájain keresztül. Az útvonalat erdő, rétek és mezők váltakozó szakaszai jellemzik, és mindig más-más irányba nyílik kilátás. Bernsteinből az út kisebb emelkedőkkel és lejtőkkel Goberlingen keresztül Unterkohlstättenbe vezet. Itt kezdődik az útvonal utolsó nagyobb emelkedője a Hirschenstein és a Geschriebenstein 883 méteres emelkedőjével. A Geschriebenstein csúcsán és a rajta lévő kilátótoronynál elérte az osztrák-magyar határt is. Az alpannonia túraúrahálózat magyarországi szakasza ezután néhány kisebb ellenmászással lefelé vezet, míg végül Köszeg központjában elérjük a síkságot.

Semmering and Kőszeg are accessible by train.
Fischbach via Birkfeld by bus
Attention! Special offer in Kőszeg; possibility to take a taxi from Kőszeg back to the starting point Semmering or Fischbach. (Fixed price 100 Euro) Please book early through the tourism office in Kőszeg.

Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your mountain experience and fitness. Check the weather forecast beforehand. Weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Therefore, always start properly equipped (e.g. rain protection).
Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit are open. Inform someone about your chosen route and planned return before you start.
