Aussichtsturm am Geschriebenstein

Leírás

Instead of a wooden tower ("Árpád Tower"), which the municipality of Güns had erected on the Geschriebenstein in 1891, the municipality of Rechnitz built the stone lookout tower, which is still preserved today, right on the Austrian-Hungarian border in 1913 - the border runs right through the middle of the lookout tower. A breathtaking view in all four directions awaits you from the lookout tower. On a clear day, you can see the Schneeberg and Rax mountains as well as the outline of Lake Neusiedl. The beauty of nature is at its best here.

Since the fall of the "Iron Curtain", the lookout tower has been visited by many day-trippers again, as it was in earlier times, and a sundial has been attached to the front again since summer 2001.
